One of Canada's top birding locations, this day trip begins in Kelowna and winds up in Osoyoos. A number of specialty species can be found in this area including Canyon Wren, Sage Thrasher, Lewis's Woodpecker, Lark Sparrow, Yellow-breasted Chat, and Gray Flycatcher, to name a few.
Join us on an action packed day tour in the Salmon Arm area of British Columbia. We'll be watching for migrating shorebirds, as well as Western and perhaps Clark's grebes, a variety of waterfowl, gulls, and much more.
Visit some of the west coast of North America's most coveted locations to witness the migration of shorebirds, heading from arctic breeding grounds to points south for the winter. A few of the species to be on the lookout for include Black Oystercatcher, Black Turnstone, Pacific Golden Plover, Marbled Godwit, Western Sandpiper, Long-billed Dowitcher and Sanderling. Uncommon to rare species also possible.
Departing from Kelowna, B.C., we will make our way to the Kamloops regions, where extensive grasslands and many lakes and ponds are home to a nice variety of birds, including waterfowl, shorebirds, migrating raptors and more.
