Explore the Nome area, home to such tantalizing species as Bluethroat, Northern Wheatear, Bristle-thighed Curlew, Eastern Yellow Wagtail, eiders, jaegers, and much more. In addition to birds, we could see majestic Muskox and Grizzly Bear, as well as breathtaking scenery.
Explore Canada's two westernmost provinces, Alberta and British Columbia, during the peak of summer breeding season for birds. We often tally over 220 species on this fantastic trip which takes us from the rolling prairies and foothills, through the Rocky Mountains to the stunning Okanagan Valley, ending up at the Pacific Ocean in Vancouver.
Search for prairie birds like Thick-billed Longspur, Chestnut-collared Longspur, Sprague's Pipit, Baird's Sparrow, Loggerhead Shrike and more. Then, we'll shift our focus to the boreal forest near Cold Lake where we hope to find an array of warblers including Connecticut, Blackburnian, Cape May, Bay-breasted, and Chestnut-sided, plus others.
Short tour to Canadian prairie province where we hope to find migrating Whooping Cranes, amongst thousands of Sandhill Cranes and thousands of southbound geese. Day trip to boreal forest also for additional species.
Be dazzled by the vivid oranges and reds of the fall colours, especially as we visit the White Mountains in New Hampshire. Along the Atlantic Coast, we'll explore rocky headlands for seabirds and beaches for shorebirds. Parks and forests should yield a few lingering 'eastern' warblers, as well Northern Cardinals, Blue Jays, Tufted Titmouse and a variety of sparrows.
