  • A bounty of manakins! The stunning and ultra-localised Araripe Manakin tops the list but Band-tailed, Red-headed, Swallow-tailed, Blue-backed, Helmeted, Kinglet, White-crowned and Pin-tailed are all likely as well.
  • Over 20 species of parrots including some of the world’s rarest such as Gray-breasted Parakeet, Ochre-marked Parakeet and the magnificent Indigo (aka Lear’s) Macaw, this latter against the spectacular backdrop of the red cliffs of Canudos!
  • Lovely hummingbirds like the iconic Horned Sungem, Hooded Visorbearer, Black Jacobin, Ruby-topaz Hummingbird, Frilled Coquette and Racket-tailed Thorntail.
  • Endemics galore! Over 100 Brazilian endemics possible including White-browed Guan, Pygmy Nightjar, Ochre-backed Woodpecker, Great Xenops, Ceara Gnateater, Fringe-backed Fire-eye, White-browed Antpitta, White-winged Cotinga and, with some extra luck, Banded Cotinga and Yellow-faced Siskin.
